Dominio Fournier
Ribera del Duero
The hidden mile of the Ribera del Duero, is this wonderful plot located inside a natural meander of the Duero river. The river accompanies naturally the vineyards for 2km. With a soil of gravel, excellent draining is provided and tough conditions are created for the vines which have to fight hard to get their roots in the ground, creating robust and concentrated grapes, which will create elegant, intense and structured wines.
The plots of land are divided between young aged, mature and very old vines, which are divided and then selected for the different wines. They range from 10 year old vines to over 70 year old vines. A single grape variety is used: 'Tinta del País', which is how 'Tempranillo' grape is called in Ribera del Duero.
Located in a world famous wine making location, where excellent conditions exist for winemaking, both in terms of climate and in terms of the composition of the soil.
